Dust Extraction

For all woodworkers a good dust extraction system is essential. Dust can cause serious damage to health as well as reducing the effectiveness of your machine, or even causing damage to it.

The Dangers of Wood Waste

Some hardwoods and man-made materials are toxic and have been linked to serious health conditions. It is essential to take proper precautions when working with these materials and the extremely fine dust that they create. Suitable dust extraction will significantly reduce tiny particles in the air and make your workshop a much safer place to work in.

Record Power high filtration dust extractors have been independently tested down to 0.5 microns, offering the same level of protection as a P2 respirator or dust mask. They provide some of the best filtration available for machinery in this class.

It should be remembered that the high levels of filtration, which is offered by Record Power units, will only be relevant to the dust that is captured by the extractor. If the design of the dust-producing machine does not allow for proper extraction, or seals and blast gates are not properly fitted, then some dust can still escape into the workshop. Always check for good dust extraction capability, if purchasing machines that create dust.

High Pressure, Low Volume Extractors

Record Power high pressure, low volume systems (l-IPLV) are in many ways the most versatile type of extractor, and provide high pressure suction from vacuum motors. A HPLV system is generally suited to machines that produce fine dust particles, which tend to require low volume storage, such as bandsaws, sanding machines, and lathes. The main benefit of a HPLV system is they offer very fine filtration using a relatively small filter. Record Power use industrial-grade vacuum motors to deliver phenomenal high pressure suction, which increases when the hose diameter is reduced. This factor also makes the units an ideal partner for hand-operated power tools, such as belt sanders and routers. Record Power HPLV systems filter down to 0.5 microns, making them ideal for use with MDF.

Air Filters

Record Power ambient air filters are designed to remove airborne dust from the workshop. An impeller inside the machine creates airflow, which passes through a 2 stage fine filtration system. The filtered air is passed through the rear of the machine, and back into the workshop. They are designed to run quietly and efficiently for the entire duration of your time spent in the workshop. You can set the timer to run for an hour or two after you have finished to clean the air. Record Power air filters generally have low maintenance costs as the filters can be cleaned, so unless they become damaged it is highly unlikely they will need replacing.

RSDE1 Fine Filter 45 Litre Extractor – HPLV_1

Ideal if limited by budget or if a dedicated extractor is required for a single machine. If usage changes over time there are a wide range of accessories available to increase functionality.

The RSDE1 is a high filtration extractor designed to filter down to 0.5 microns to minimize the amount of harmful dust in the workshop. Particularly useful for fine dust producers such as saws or sanders. This is a compact but powerful machine ideal for workshops with limited space or budget.

RSDE/2 Fine Filter 50 Litre Extractor with Accessories – HPLV

The RSDE2 is an excellent value general purpose workshop extractor. Compact and powerful, it is supplied with all the main accessories to use with both machines and power tools. Wheel kit is included.

This powerful high filtration extractor has twin motors, a generous 80 litre capacity and is designed to filter down below 0.5 microns giving excellent protection. AC400 Two Stage Air Filter with Remote 3 Speeds and Time Delay

This new air filter offers great features and performance at a very competitive price. It features two stage filtration with pocket filters (previously only available on our top of the range AC2 machine and nearly twice the price) to provide filtration down to 1 micron. It has 3 speeds and a timer function so you can leave the unit to run for a period after you have finished in the workshop. Both of which can be applied by remote control, which is included with the machine. Also supplied with mounting hooks and chains.
